I think there are a few too many differences to do a whole lot of using both.....but they could probably figure something out.

Everyone says when rules disscussions come up that tracks need to work together and get on the same page. Chris is trying to make his rules like another and now people are saying make their own???

Lets look at this from a business standpoint..................

IF CLR has 20 Cars a week in a class ( WHICH THEY DONT) Wayne county could potentialy have a 20 car field if they copy CLR's rules..........

NOW if FAYETTEVILLE, DUBLIN, HAMMERDOWN and CLARY'S, rules are pretty much the same, and each of these tacks have lets say 15 cars a week (WHICH SOME DO AND SOME DONT) that would give Wayne County a chance at a 60 car field...............

Now as a promoter, and fan which equation looks better to you?????????

Re: If Wayne County Opens...... What Rules? - Yesterday, 01:12 AM

well everyone says the promoters should get together and do this and they should do that. if you want the great car counts that you have in the midwest and up north, why dont the drivers get together WITH the promoters and discuss this? other wise its going to constantly be a struggle and we wont make any progress at all. it will take all of us to get together and discuss whats going on with racing in the region. honestly, i dont think its the rules thats hurting everyone, its the simple fact that the economy isnt at the best right now. people cant afford to race and people cant afford to go to the races. let the man decide the rules that he wants to run and see where he ends up before the bashing begins.

Because it's unrealistic. There are too many drivers with different points of view, and that's obvious by spending any amount of time reading this and other forums. Could you imagine a "discussion" where dozens of drivers showed up to discuss rules with several promoters, representing multiple tracks, being anything close to productive?

I really believe the first step to this is having a strong commitment on behalf of the promoters. Get four or five of them in a room with a facilitator to discuss the pros / cons of each class as they pertain to their individual tracks. Highlight and strengthen the similarities. Work to minimize or eliminate the differences. Commit to the outcome. Help drivers that are committed to racing (as evidenced by their attendance on a weekly basis) with the adjustments they may need to make, within reason. Give it a season or two to spread.

While the chances of that happening are probably slim, they have to be greater than opening up the process to drivers *and* promoters right out of the gate.

Re: If Wayne County Opens...... What Rules? - Yesterday, 12:22 PM

Dublin and Fayetteville share alot of the same cars. If Dublin is running on Fridays , most of the cars will be there. Clary's has no rule book at this point. No mention of who is promoting it yet. Chris Hammer has no option but to work his rules and such, he can not wait til March to get that information out. CLR runs a Pure Stock Four Cylinder, Super Stock Four Cylinder, Pure Stock V-8 ,and Cadet which Fayetteville and Dublin do not run. Fayetteville and Dublin run a Limited Late Model that is very close to the Late Model at CLR. The Super Street at Fayetetville and Dublin is close to the Thunder & Lightning at CLR.

Thanks for the response James. Do you see any benefit from your position to work with FMS and Dublin to make your limited and late model classes the same? Same question for the Super Street / Thunder and Lightning classes since they are the classes you've identified as being close to what the other tracks are running.

In order for WCS to succeed, the rules will have to favor CLR and FMS rules.

i think that wcs will got more cars from clarys than they will form clr. this has been true in the past few years when wcs was open. the drivers at clr often don't travel much at all and you can run the same tires and all at clarys and wcs
