Jeff Gordon says developing COT was fortuitous move |
|
Jan 04, 2009 - 6:04 PM - by My Name Is Carol
|
Whether through happenstance or through foresight bordering on prescience, NASCAR's development of the car of tomorrow was a brilliant move, says four-time Cup series champion Jeff Gordon.
Gordon's view has nothing to do with the way the car drives. In truth, he'd probably prefer a car without bump stops in the front suspension, one that turns more easily through the corners at the high-banked tracks that make up the bulk of the Sprint Cup schedule.
With United... [Read More]

Tony Stewart led the field through the streets of Scottsdale, Ariz., on Sunday, but he wasn’t doing any racing. Instead, the two-time Cup champion was fulfilling one of his duties as grand marshal of the Fiesta Bowl.
Stewart sat on the trunk of a Corvette convertible during the 1.9-mile route of the Fiesta Bowl Parade. The Fiesta Bowl is to be played Monday night between Ohio State and Texas.

David Exum: Dale Earnhardt Jr. needs a new crew chief |
|
Jan 04, 2009 - 5:59 PM - by My Name Is Carol
|
COMMENTARY
If Dale Earnhardt Jr. expects to be successful in 2009, the first thing he needs to do is dump his crew chief, Tony Eury Jr.
While it likely won't happen, Earnhardt Jr. should realize by now that his partnership with cousin Eury Jr. just isn't working.
Sure, Earnhardt Jr. made the Chase For The Sprint Cup in 2008, but he struggled considerably in the final 10 races of the season and finished 12th in the series standings. If Earnhardt Jr.... [Read More]

Richard Childress has been a household name to NASCAR fans for years.
A car owner since 1969 - first for himself and then gaining acclaim during his tenure with Dale Earnhardt - he's won six championships in NASCAR's elite series and has become a regular owner with teams in what is now the Chase For The Sprint Cup.
This year, though, he gained attention for a move away from the track. In July, he announced that he and his family had teamed up with Wake Forest... [Read More]

Top-30 NASCAR Sprint Cup drivers: Clint Bowyer, fifth |

Clint Bowyer undoubtedly had a phenomenal 2008, winning the NASCAR Nationwide Series championship and finishing fifth in the Sprint Cup Series standings.
Bowyer’s season has to be considered as one of the best in NASCAR history, as rarely has one driver won one of the sanctioning body’s three national series championships and finished in the top five in another.
The Emporia, Kan. native was one of the surprise drivers of 2007, as he won his first race in the Cup... [Read More]
