Why no live video feed for Nascar? - 02-14-2008, 05:27 PM

I was checking out the Race View for the races today but to me it's not very accurate for video. I watch a car go down the track sideways one time today for half the track.LOL

With all the money Nascar has you would think there would be live video feeds on the net for the races other than this cartoonist Race View stuff..

Broadcast rights. They sell 'em to the highest bidder. I'm almost positive their contracts with the networks and DirecTV prohibit NASCAR from providing their own live feeds. In a way, that's good because NASCAR should be focused on racing while leaving broadcast capabilities in the hands of those that specialize in that line of work.

Yea probably right but Nascar has enough money to hire the people to do it right, if they needed to that is.

Hey it's the era of economic specialization. They focus on what they do best, the networks and/or directv focus on what they do best. Everyone wins! And gets to promote each other! Yeah it pretty much does suck though. Hope we'll see some improvements soon.

It's not feeding from us and is only a embedded player so I have no concerns.
