Rain washes out Thursday race
Rain washed out the sixth round of the Super Bowl of Racing IV at Golden Isles Speedway. Sprinkles developed just after time trials and developed into rain that forced officials to cancel the event. Before the rain, three-race winner Jimmy Owens of Newport, Tenn., lowered the Golden Isles Speedway track record with a 15.252-second lap at the sixth round of the Super Bowl of Racing IV, topping an event-high 62 entries in the O'Reily Southern All Star Series event. Because of the rainout, Friday and Saturday's action at Golden Isles will both be SAS points events. |

Based on a set of rules that favor lower cost components yet utilizes late model race car chassis design for safety and adjustability, they have developed a 3/4 scale race car that can race on both asphalt or dirt and that is relatively inexpensive to built, race and maintain. That TQ is a cool class. The rules are good also. I wish we had that class around here. But it seems that we are about 2 to 3 years behind everybody else. I think this class would do good here far as car count. I would look into this class in steed of racing go karts.
