These terms cover this restoration site. They are not the original Local Race Chat terms. The original board carried standard vBulletin registration boilerplate, which applied to registering an account on a board that no longer exists and has no meaning here. It has therefore been replaced rather than reproduced. The site’s own writing, the part that was genuinely LRC rather than vBulletin, is on the site rules page and is restored close to verbatim.
What this site is
localracechat.com is an archive restoration. It reconstructs the structure, identity and public record of a dirt and asphalt short track racing site and message board that ran from 2005 into 2016, using captures held by the Internet Archive. It is a historical record. It is not a live community.
There are no accounts, no registration, no login, no posting and no private messaging on this site. Nothing here collects a password. Any page that appears to offer those things would be a defect and should be reported through the contact page.
Ownership of the original content
Local Race Chat’s own content, including the site rules text, the wordmark, the site banner and the names of its sections, remains the property of its authors and rights holders. It is reproduced here for the purpose of preserving a public record of the site, attributed to its source, with each page linking to the capture it came from.
Posts made by members of the original board are the work of those members. None of them are republished on this site.
The news archive records headlines, dates and the handles of the members who posted them. The articles themselves were in almost every case press releases issued by racing series and their promoters. That copy belongs to those series and is deliberately not reproduced.

If you hold rights in material reproduced on this site and you want it removed or corrected, that request will be honoured. It does not need to be argued. Get in touch through the contact page.
This applies equally to member handles. The four handles that appear in the news archive belong to real people, and any of them may ask to be delisted.
Photography
No photograph on this site is from Local Race Chat. The racing photographs are licensed stock from Pexels and Unsplash, used under those services’ licences, and every photographer is credited on the restoration page. The only original images are the recovered LRC wordmark and the 2016 site banner.
Accuracy
Every factual claim about the original site is drawn from an Internet Archive capture and is intended to be traceable to one. That said, captures are incomplete by nature and some of them are damaged. Where the archive is silent, this site says so rather than filling the gap.
No guarantee
The site is offered as it is, with no warranty that every detail is complete or correct.
Corrections welcome
An error that can be checked against a capture will be fixed.
No inference
Where the archive does not support a claim, the claim is not made.

This site links heavily to the Internet Archive and, in places, to other sites. Those are not under this site’s control and no responsibility is taken for what they contain or whether they still resolve. A large share of the sites the original links directory pointed at are long gone.
Privacy
This restoration does not ask you for personal information. There is no account system, no contact form, no newsletter signup and no comment facility. The original site ran a Constant Contact newsletter; that list is gone and is not restored.
Changes
These terms may be revised as the restoration is corrected and extended. The current version is the one on this page.
